Speakers, Talks and More MODXpo 2013 Details

MODXpo 2013 is shaping up to be an amazing conference for MODXers from around the world. Nearly all the Advance tickets were sold. However, we're certain that many of you have been holding out to hear about the speakers and presentations at this, our third international, MODX user conference, before buying yours.

Day One

MODX Co-founder, Ryan Thrash starts off the conference with his State of MODX presentation. Regular presentations will include: Gauke Pieter Sietzema of Sterc, sharing their MODX fails, so you don't have to; Menno Pietersen will walk us through a responsive, multilingual project case-study; there will be a CXM and Appification of MODX discussion, moderated by George Economides; Bert Oost will show you how to extend the MODX User; Charles Sanders will showcase advanced caching and scaling of a large MODX implementation across 10 servers; and, community sage Susan Ottwell will dig into the popular MIGx and pdoTools.

Friday evening we'll get social. We'll be sharing a few drinks with our new day-one friends and reminiscing with our old friends from the forums and other social spaces. We haven't completely ironed out the details, but we know it will be a terrific way to chat or code-share outside the hustle and bustle of the conference days. Maybe there'll be a hack-a-thon or bug party—we'll see…

Day Two

Saturday will be another jam-packed day (as long as you don't celebrate too much on Friday night). Anselm Hannemann, who is blazing trails in the front-end dev and digital magazine worlds, will discuss the five things you need for responsive development; Mark Hamstra of modmore, will get you revved on why and how you should contribute to MODX; MODX Cloud Lead, Mike Schell, will showcase the new MODX Cloud (2.0) and show you where it's going; Chris Cherrett will share how UK agency, Adido, does continuous integration & deployment with MODX; Steve King will discuss his 6 Ps and using site distributions for the success of his business; and, to cap of the conference and bring things to a close, we'll have a closing ceremony to include various product and prize draws from some of our sponsors.

Change is Inevitable

Of course, there may be need to make changes to the lineup, speakers may adjust their talks or schedule. We'll try to post any changes and updates to the MODXpo website as they happen.

Do You have Something to Share?

The lineup and speakers for the conference main stage is fairly complete, however, we're open to proposals from speakers interested in offering a presentation, discussion, or workshop in one of the smaller rooms. We don't want to force people to give up one of two good talks; these small-room presentations might just be a way for presenters to share thoughts or get some experience expressing their ideas in public.
